Our Story
JohnPress Leadership Advisory was born from a quiet story told in a Korean monastery where national leaders once sought the wisdom of a humble monk. That story lit a fire in Tim JohnPress, shaping a lifelong journey to understand what makes leadership truly powerful.
In the years that followed, Tim’s path wove through engineering, martial arts and personal growth. His teachings began to resonate with professionals seeking more than just success — they were looking for deeper meaning. One of those seekers was Tova, whose heartfelt written letter turned first into a conversation, followed by deep connection and eventually, a marriage rooted in shared values and vision.
In 1997, Tim and Tova left behind successful careers to follow a calling to help others unlock what’s possible when wisdom, heart and leadership align. What started with a story, a spark and a letter has now transitioned into a global advisory firm, guiding leaders and teams to the next level — where impact meets authenticity and success is deeply personal.

With a background in electrical engineering and 40+ years of martial arts and self-actualization studies, Tim brings a rare blend of pragmatic strategy and deep inquiry to every engagement.
Known for his down-to-earth, Socratic style, candid insights and collaborative approach, Tim has guided hundreds of clients toward breakthrough results both personally and professionally. He has led multi-year initiatives in leadership development, strategy, high-performance teams and organizational change, drawing on decades of experience in both corporate and entrepreneurial settings.
When he’s not coaching or consulting, you’ll find Tim restoring vintage muscle cars, tending his garden or spending time with his wife and business partner Tova, and daughter Ally in Austin, Texas.
